Church roof collapses during fire in Warrenton

WARRENTON, Mo. - Firefighters from 11 jurisdictions responded to help contain and extinguish a church fire in Warrenton early Monday morning.The Warrenton Fire Protection District received word just before 4:55 a.m. about smoke emitting from the Abundant Life Church, located off the Northwest Service Road, just west of State Route W.Firetrucks arrived at 5:05 a.m. and saw smoke and a glow coming from inside the facility. ‘Worst roads in America’ : St. Louis man makes viral videos in push for change Crews used thermal imaging and located what appeared to be a living area. Firefighters searched the room, but found no one. Flames and heat prevented firefighters from accessing the house of worship at other points.The church was fully engulfed minutes later, with the roof collapsing shortly after firefighters exited the building for a second time.No injuries were reported. ST. LOUIS COUNTY, Mo. - A Pagedale man appeared in St. Louis County Circuit Court last week and pleaded guilty to the 2019 shooting death of his domestic partner.Officers with the Pagedale Police Department were called to a home in the 1500 block of Engelholm Avenue around 8 a.m. on July 30, 2019. Witnesses reported hearing a pop coming from a bedroom inside the home.Officers arrived at the home and found the body Delores Kirk in the bedroom. ST. CLAIR COUNTY, Ill. - A Belleville, Illinois, man has been charged for allegedly stealing a wallet while working as an Amazon delivery driver, and using the credit cards within.The wallet was picked up on Saturday, June 3, outside a convenience store in O'Fallon.Surveillance video recorded the moments where the driver got out of his car, picked up the wallet, and headed into the store. Cameras also caught the driver leaving that store without turning the wallet in.After the driver left the store, police said a credit card in that wallet was used to make a slew of online purchases, totaling around $1,500. Video taken early Monday shows street racers taking over three South Los Angeles intersections.Between 12 a.m. and 2 a.m., several cars were recorded doing donuts as people hung out of cars and spectators watched or filmed the dangerous stunts.Fireworks also went off at one of the takeovers, the video from a freelance photographer showed.The incidents occurred at Western Avenue and Century Boulevard, Normandie and Florence avenues and Normandie Avenue and Jefferson Boulevard.In one of the takeovers, a large group formed in the middle while a driver performed donuts.In another, several vehicles were conducting the stunts at the same time.The video shows the crowd start to disperse as police sirens are heard in the background.San Jose: Pedestrian killed in collision near McKee Road and Jackson Avenue

SAN JOSE — A person died Monday morning after they were hit by a vehicle in the area of McKee Road and Jackson Avenue near Regional Medical Center in East San Jose, police said.Authorities confirmed the collision in a tweet just before 9 a.m. The crash was reported to police at 8:04 a.m.The victim, a pedestrian, was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.
