Hit-and-Run near West San Marcos Boulevard Left Rider Seriously InjuredSAN MARCOS, CA (July 10, 2023) – Early Thursday morning, a hit-and-run crash on Grand Avenue left a rider hospitalized with major injuries.The collision happened on June 15th, at around 5:30 a.m. at the intersection of Grand Avenue and W. San Marcos Boulevard.Responding deputies discovered a person lying along the roadway after being thrown off a motorcycle.According to the investigators, a pickup truck ran passed a red signal arrow, turning directly into the path of a westbound motorcycle. However, the driver did not pull over to render aid to the rider and fled the scene.Eventually, medical responders arrived and transported the injured motorcyclist to a hospital for treatment of serious injuries.On June 29th, authorities released surveillance photos from the incident. "Buddy," a therapy dog in training for a local nonprofit was stolen from in front of 1000 Fourth Street in San Rafael.
