AUSTIN (KXAN) — Support continued to pour in for Austin Police Officer Jorge Pastore, who died on duty during a hostage situation Saturday.Pastore was shot during a SWAT operation attempting to free hostages in a south Austin home. AUSTIN (KXAN) — A November report released by the North American Electric Reliability Corporation found several electric reliability regions within North America are at an elevated risk during extreme weather conditions this winter, including the Electric Reliability Council of Texas (ERCOT).The report evaluated six regional entities and assessed possible concerns ahead of this winter season, specifically honing in on the December to February timeframe. Authorities in western Wisconsin say a murder suspect has been arrested and charged in a nearly four-decades-old cold case.Mary Josephine Bailey, 80, was arrested Monday in Maricopa County, Ariz., in the death of Yvonne Menke, who was shot three times after leaving her St. Croix Falls’ home for work at 6:25 a.m. on Dec. 12, 1985. SHEFFIELD, England (AP) — Police in England arrested a man Tuesday on suspicion of manslaughter in the death of American ice hockey player Adam Johnson, whose neck was cut by a skate during a game.Johnson, 29, was playing for the Nottingham Panthers against the Sheffield Steelers on Oct. 28 when a skate blade cut his neck in the Elite Ice Hockey League game at Sheffield’s Utilita Arena.South Yorkshire Police did not name the suspect or provide his age. ST. LOUIS -- A man admitted to shooting a 9-year-old in the back during a court hearing Monday. Kajuan Ali Daniels-McMillan, 21, faces weapons charges and was arrested three months after the shooting.The incident occurred on December 17, 2021, after a disagreement with his brother over a container of yogurt at a home in the 4600 block of North 20th Street. The argument escalated, prompting Tyrell's mother to call 911. As Daniels-McMillan left, he fired four shots through the door, hitting Tyrell in the back as he tried to lock it. An ill-prepared hiker who attempted to bushwhack to the summit of a 13er in Chaffee County on Nov. 8 was located and brought down safely by Chaffee County Search and Rescue North after nearly 10 hours, according to a Facebook post. The Starbucks Workers United union has announced that thousands of employees at hundreds of locations nationwide will walk off the job on the coffee chain's Red Cup Day promotional event this week.
