ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (AP) — An argument over seating at an Albuquerque movie theater escalated into a shooting that left a man dead and sent frightened filmgoers scrambling to flee, police said Monday. Detectives with the Albuquerque Police Department filed charges Monday in Metropolitan Court against 19-year-old Enrique Padilla in connection with the Sunday evening shooting at a cinema complex next to an interstate highway. Padilla was at a hospital under guard Monday evening while being treated for a gunshot wound, police spokesman Gilbert Gallegos said. It was unclear whether Padilla had a legal representative who could speak on his behalf.Witnesses told police that a man later identified as Padilla arrived at the theater with his girlfriend and found another couple in at least one of their reserved seats. CHICAGO — A man has been charged after being arrested for allegedly stabbing a woman near Grant Park.Joshua Shaw, 43.According to the Chicago Police Department, 43-year-old Joshua Shaw has been charged with one felony count of aggravated battery and use of a deadly weapon after he was arrested in the 900 block of South Michigan Avenue around 8 p.m. Saturday.Police said he was identified as the man who, minutes earlier, stabbed and seriously injured a 25-year-old woman in the 1100 block of South Michigan Avenue.Responding officers then located Shaw and placed him into custody. ST. LOUIS - Police are investigating a triple shooting Monday night.According to the spokesperson for the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department, they received a call just before 8 p.m. for a shooting at the intersection of Gibson and Tower Grove avenues in the Forest Park Southeast neighborhood. A man and woman were pronounced dead on the scene. Another woman was shot and was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment. Her conditions are unknown at this time. Police claim the victims knew each other.The cause of the shooting is still under investigation. However, police believe an altercation between the victims led to the shooting. Three of the four victims killed in a fiery single-car crash early Saturday morning on the 5 Freeway in Downey have been identified as United States Marines stationed at Camp Pendleton. According to a release from the California Highway Patrol, the single vehicle crash involving a 2018 Dodge Charger happened around 2:30 a.m. on the southbound span of the 5 Freeway south of Lakewood Boulevard.
