Masked robber surprises St. Louis Pi Pizzeria employee ST. LOUIS -- Pi Pizzeria's Central West End location was robbed Monday night. The armed suspect surprised an employee while she was counting the cash from that evening's sales.Officers were called to the 400 block of North Euclid at around 9 p.m. to check on a hold-up. An employee told them that she was counting the tills when a man wearing all black, including a mask, suddenly appeared in the back office with her. He threw a black bag on the ground, pointed a gun at her, and then motioned to put the money in the bag. Dispute over noose outside St. Charles County home The employee did what the robber wanted her to do. He then left the building through the rear door.The police have not yet released a more detailed description of the suspect. They say this robbery is still under investigation.

Man arrested in fatal Thornton stabbing Thornton police have arrested one man in connection with a fatal stabbing in the area of West 84th Avenue on Monday night.Officers responded to the area of 160 W. 84th Ave. at 7:38 p.m. and found a man who had been stabbed multiple times, according to a news release from the Thornton Police Department.The man was transported to a local hospital, where he died.Thornton PD investigating the stabbing of an adult male on W 84th Ave between Acoma St and Conifer Rd. Complex ‘phantom hacker’ scams targeting senior citizens’ life savings, FBI says  The FBI is warning the public of an increase in “phantom hacker” scams nationwide that target senior citizens. Officials warned that this type of scam is an “evolution of more general tech support scams” that can consist of three steps. “[Scammers] layer imposter support, financial institution and government personas to enhance the trust victims place in the scammers and identify the most lucrative accounts to target,” an FBI news release said. “Victims often suffer the loss of entire banking, savings, retirement or investment accounts under the guise of ‘protecting’ their assets.” According to the FBI release, 19,000 complaints related to tech support scams were submitted to the FBI Internet Crime Complaint Center between January and June of 2023.  27 suspected gang members arrested in California crackdown The estimated victim losses totaled over $542 million, the FBI said.
