AUSTIN (KXAN) — Check your ticket! A $1 million Powerball prize remains without a winner after the lottery drawing in October.The Texas Lottery Commission said the prize is still unclaimed as of Tuesday. The Quick Pick ticket drawing was held Oct. 22 with winning numbers 19-25-48-55-60The winning ticket was bought at Tiger Mart 75 at 3070 N.E. Loop 286 in Paris. The deadline to claim the prize is April 20 at 5 p.m. local time.The commission is encouraging Powerball players to recheck their tickets to see if their numbers match. Kite flyers both young and young at heart have been filling the sky with their creations since 1929 when The Exchange Club started the event. LOUIS - A Kirkwood, Missouri, man appeared in federal court on Tuesday and admitted to repeatedly obtaining firearms after being committed to a mental institution.Prosecutors with the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of Missouri said Joseph Zarky, 24, routinely encountered local police while in possession of firearms and "behaving erratically." HAZELWOOD, Mo. - A man vanished while visiting a Hazelwood motel. Police believed he could be in imminent danger.Tristan Malik Baumer, 25, has been missing since Sunday. Investigators said his family is very concerned about his well-being. Colorado authorities are investigating a mountain town casino heist of $500,000 in cash — the biggest theft from a casino that state regulators can remember since gambling started again in 1991.The theft from the Monarch Casino Resort and Spa, located 34 miles west of Denver in Black Hawk, occurred March 12. A man who allegedly stole a California Highway Patrol cruiser appeared to be seriously injured after throwing himself out of the vehicle as he was being chased by authorities in the Antelope Valley Tuesday afternoon. The CHP cruiser, a Dodger Charger, was stolen as officers were responding to a crash on the northbound 5 Freeway at Hasley Canyon. Officers pursued the vehicle as it reached speeds of 100 mph, CHP officials told KTLA. Once at 87th Street West and West Avenue D, the suspect flung himself out of the speeding vehicle and hit on the roadway as the cruiser crashed into a light pole and went off the road, news footage showed. He appeared to hit the back of his head on the road and was unconscious.Officers provided medical aid to the man, who was eventually taken to a hospital around 12:55 p.m. His condition was unknown. A former Redondo Beach resident was sentenced to 27 years in federal prison for targeting young girls on the internet and convincing them to engage in masochistic abuse. According to the Department of Justice, 32-year-old Matthew Christian Locher singled out girls suffering from mental health issues including depression, suicidal thoughts and eating disorders to send him videos of themselves committing acts of self-harm, which included cutting their breasts with razor blades, for his sexual gratification. He began targeting girls in November 2020 and continued doing so until May 2021. “During internet conversations, Locher groomed his victims to engage in self-mutilation and instructed a victim struggling with an eating disorder to starve herself, ordering her to film herself cutting her body when she disobeyed him,” the DOJ said in a statement.
