LONDON (AP) — The New York Mets and Philadelphia Phillies will play in London next season, MLB Commissioner Rob Manfred said Friday.The teams will play at London Stadium in the third MLB series in the British capital. The New York Yankees and Boston Red Sox played in London in 2019, and the St. Louis Cardinals and Chicago Cubs will meet in a two-game series this weekend.The Mets-Phillies series had been widely reported earlier, though league officials held off on an announcement until the eve of the Cardinals-Cubs series.Manfred spoke at a news conference Friday before Cardinals and Cubs players worked out on the artificial turf at the home of Premier League soccer club West Ham.The Yankees are lobbying to play in Paris in 2025. DENVER (KDVR) — If you have expired tags or an unregistered vehicle, consider yourself warned. Multiple agencies will be on the lookout this weekend and ticketing drivers during an enforcement campaign.The Aurora Police Department along with Adams, Arapahoe and Douglas County Sheriff's Office will be on the hunt for expired tags beginning Sunday, June 25 through July 1.According to APD, officers will be on the lookout for drivers in cars that are unregistered or have significantly expired tags that are more than three months old. APD said if you are stopped by officers, it could result in a $93 ticket on top of late fees assigned by the state. DENVER (KDVR) — Police at the University of Colorado Boulder are investigating a stabbing early Friday morning that sent a heavy police presence to University Hill.According to the CU Boulder Police Department, officers assisted Boulder Police with a stabbing near 13th and College. The area is near a heavily populated part of campus known as "The Hill." The stabbing occurred at 1:45 a.m.CUPD said they located one victim who was taken to a local hospital. The extent of injuries is unknown at this point. Mental Health Colorado, a state nonprofit that advocates for increased spending on mental health issues, released its latest legislative report Thursday. The report ranks adult and youth mental health in U.S. states using a combination of the most current federal and survey data. In an incident that occurred in the early hours of Thursday, a pedestrian was struck and killed by a speeding vehicle that fled the scene without rendering aid or providing information. The victim has been identified as 36-year-old Felix Benitez.The fatal hit-and-run took place as Benitez was crossing Northwest 32nd Avenue at Northwest 103rd Street in Miami. Around 3:45 a.m. an unidentified southbound vehicle on 32nd Avenue crashed into him.Benitez was rushed to Jackson Memorial Hospital following the incident but unfortunately succumbed to his injuries. Authorities from the Miami-Dade Police Department are seeking the public’s assistance in apprehending the driver responsible for this hit-and-run. (CNN) — The scene is unsettling: hundreds of sea lions and dolphins are sprawled across the beaches in Southern California, either dead or sick and exhibiting abnormal behavior.Officials have received more than 1,000 calls in recent weeks from beachgoers, tourists and residents reporting sick, dying and dead sea mammals washed ashore from Santa Barbara to San Diego County, amid a growing toxic algal bloom in the waters off the coast.The wave of dead or sick animals is “one of the largest in memory,” Justin Greenman, a stranding coordinator with NOAA Fisheries, told CNN. “It’s completely overwhelming.”And, Greenman said, it doesn’t appear to be ending any time soon.Marine-life experts believe the harmful algal bloom is to blame, though they are waiting on test results to confirm it.
