JACKSONVILLE, Fla. (AP) — Trevor Lawrence has ditched the crutches and the walking boot. The Jacksonville Jaguars quarterback feels “a lot better” than he thought he would two days after sustaining a high ankle sprain against Cincinnati.Lawrence sat out practice Wednesday but wouldn’t rule out playing at Cleveland (7-5) on Sunday, a matchup that could help decide the AFC wild-card race or postseason seeding down the stretch.“I’m thankful that it wasn’t a worse injury than what I kind of thought it was on the field,” Lawrence said.Lawrence injured his right ankle when left tackle Walker Little stepped on him while getting powered backward late in Monday night’s 34-31 overtime loss to the Bengals. X-rays were negative, but Lawrence was diagnosed with a high ankle sprain that could take weeks to fully heal.Quarterbacks have played through similar injuries before; most recently Kansas City Chiefs star Patrick Mahomes played last season’s AFC championship game and the Super Bowl with a h...49ers linebacker Dre Greenlaw says he has apologized to Eagles security staffer

DENVER (AP) — Colorado Supreme Court justices on Wednesday sharply questioned both sides about whether they could exclude former President Donald Trump from the 2024 ballot in a case that seeks to upend his bid for a second term by claiming the Constitution's insurrection clause bars him from another run for the White House. At issue is the wording of the Civil War-era clause itself, whether the courts have a right to intervene at this stage if Trump has otherwise met the basic requirements to appear on Colorado's 2024 primary ballot and whether Trump indeed incited an insurrection when his supporters violently stormed the U.S. Capitol on Jan. 6, 2021. WASHINGTON (AP) — The military announced late Wednesday it was grounding all of its Osprey V-22 helicopters, one week after eight Air Force Special Operations Command service members died in a crash off the coast of Japan. The Air Force, Navy and Marine Corps took the extraordinary step of grounding hundreds of aircraft after a preliminary investigation of last week's crash indicated that a materiel failure — that something went wrong with the aircraft — and not a mistake by the crew led to the deaths. The crash raised new questions about the safety of the Osprey, which has been involved in multiple fatal accidents over its relatively short time in service. Japan grounded its fleet of 14 Ospreys after the crash. Lt. Gen. Tony Bauernfeind, head of Air Force Special Operations Command, directed the standdown “to mitigate risk while the investigation continues," the command said in a statement. “Preliminary investigation information indicates a potential materiel failure caused the mish...Latest news
