Police search for driver in Petaluma hit-and-run

PETALUMA, Calif. (KRON) -- The driver linked to a hit-and-run on March 16 is being sought after by police, the Petaluma Police Department said Wednesday in a Nixle alert. Police said a Chevrolet Camaro (pictured above) crashed into a retaining wall at a home on the 1500 block of Colwood Drive around 1 p.m. PHOTOS: Steeple blown off church in Richmond Officers arrived at the scene of the crash and found damage in the front yard of the residence, police said. Witnesses said the Camaro drove away eastbound on Colwood Drive.Police followed a "fluid trail" southbound on Crinella Drive and saw the suspect vehicle parked on Parent Way. The car was unoccupied.The Camaro's damage was "consistent" with the collision at the aforementioned residence, according to the Nixle alert. 3 arrested at Vallejo DUI crash scene

(KRON) -- Vallejo police officers were investigating a suspected DUI crash scene when a drunk passenger became aggressive and grabbed an officer's gun, according to police. The crash happened on March 19 when a Toyota Camry driver drove the wrong way on Curtola Parkway, lost control, knocked over a tree, and collided into a pole. Police received multiple 911 calls and responded to the scene. All four people who were inside the Toyota appeared to be intoxicated, police said. "One of the passengers was a female who became belligerent with officers while throwing up outside the vehicle. The female suddenly lunged at one of our officers," the Vallejo Police Department wrote. The officer shoved the woman's hand off the gun. As the woman was being arrested, another drunk passenger also became aggressive, VPD said. "Our officers repeatedly told the other passengers to back away from the female while they were arresting her. One male refused to back up and comply with our officers' orders. ...

Body found near East High shooting suspect's car in Park County

DENVER (KDVR) — The Park County Sheriff's Office said a body was found near the vehicle of the East High School suspect accused of shooting two administrators on Wednesday.Austin Lyle, 17, was identified as the suspect by Denver police and was under a safety plan to be patted down each day before entering the school. During that search on Wednesday, Lyle got hold of a weapon and shot the staff members. He then fled the scene.A vehicle that police believed was connected to Lyle was found in Park County near Bailey Wednesday afternoon. At about 8:15 p.m. Jefferson County SWAT team found a body in the vicinity of Lyle's vehicle, according to Park County Sheriff Tom McGraw. The sheriff did not provide the identity of the body found and said that information will not be available until Thursday. A shelter-in-place has been lifted for residents in the area. East High School soccer coach has now been through 3 school-related shootings

DENVER (KDVR) — Wednesday’s shooting at East High School marks the third school-related shooting of soccer coach Kirk Bast’s career in education, he said. “Shocked and then to be honest I’m angry,” Bast said. “It brings things back up, that’s for sure.”Bast has been the soccer coach at East High School for 10 years.
