The iPhone’s new Action Button is more than a one-trick pony By Samantha Murphy Kelly | CNNThe new iPhone 15 Pro lineup offers the typical slate of new features designed to persuade customers to upgrade: They’re slimmer and thinner than last year’s crop. The new cameras are professional-grade and the switch to USB-C charging will make your life easier. But one new feature easily stands out: The Action Button.Apple has repurposed its physical mute button on the side of its high-end models into a more customizable tool, allowing users to carry out a handful of commands, from recording a voice memo and taking a picture to turning on the flashlight. The button can also be programmed to launch any app or shortcut, essentially turning it into a remote control or launching pad to gain quick access to something you want on demand. In the days since Apple’s iPhone 15 event at its Cupertino, California, headquarters, I’ve used it to load a variety of apps in a single press, including CNN, Amazon and Instagram. Deion Sanders condemns death threats against player whose late hit left Hunter with lacerated liver BOULDER, Colo. (AP) — Deion Sanders stood up for Henry Blackburn after the Colorado State safety received death threats for a late hit that sent Colorado’s two-way star Travis Hunter to the hospital with a lacerated liver. “That’s absurd for people to be threatened,” the Colorado coach said Tuesday at his weekly news conference. “I don’t mind getting death threats. I get them every week. But a kid, it’s not good. He does not deserve a death threat over a game. At the end of the day, this is a game — someone must win, someone must lose. Everybody continues their life the next day. Very unfortunate.”Blackburn delivered a late blow to Hunter’s midsection on an incomplete pass in the first quarter of the Rocky Mountain Showdown last weekend. The Rams’ senior drew a flag for unsportsmanlike conduct, one of 17 penalties the Rams committed in the 43-35 double-overtime loss to the Buffaloes. Lack of big passing plays contributing to slow start for No. 1 pick Bryce Young and the Panthers CHARLOTTE, N.C. (AP) — Bryce Young and the Carolina Panthers have struggled to push the ball downfield in their first two games.Until they figure out how to do that, they’ll likely continue to lose.Carolina has just one pass play of longer than 15 yards this season, a 22-yard reception by rookie Jonathan Mingo in Monday night’s 20-17 loss to the New Orleans Saints. That has led to an 0-2 start, leaving the Panthers two games behind unbeaten NFC South foes Atlanta, Tampa Bay and New Orleans. That isn’t necessarily all on Young, the No. 1 pick in the NFL draft — although he’s struggled at times to connect with open receivers. The offensive line has struggled with pass protection in part because of having to start two young players at the guard spots with regulars Austin Corbett and Brady Christensen on injured reserve. And Carolina’s receiving group which consists of Adam Thielen, DJ Chark, Terrace Marshall and Mingo aren’t getting enough separation.“Our struggle on of...
