See the forecast for the 2023 Chicago Marathon CHICAGO — One of the biggest questions about the Chicago Marathon is one part of the race the runners can't control: The weather. In 2023, it looks like the participants are about to catch a break from Mother Nature. The forecast from the WGN Weather Center is ideal for marathon running with mostly cloudy skies expected for the entire day. There is a slight chance for some light showers and sprinkles, but for the most part, will be dry and cool. WGN's 2023 Chicago Marathon Guide Temperatures around the start of the race are expected to be 45 degrees with temperatures reaching the low 50s around 10 a.m. The high temperature during the race figures to hit in the 1 p.m. hour at 55 degrees with things cooling off around 4 p.m. when a majority of the runners will have completed the event. Winds will be out of the northwest at 10-15 miles per hour, with occasional gusts to 20 miles per hour. Man accidentally mummified will be buried and identified after 128 years of mystery (NEXSTAR) – An alleged pickpocket who was accidentally mummified by a mortician experimenting with an embalming technique 128 years ago will finally be buried this weekend in Pennsylvania. His identity will also be revealed.The man has been on display at the Auman Funeral Home in Reading for more than a century. Workers there nicknamed him Stoneman Willie. He died of kidney failure in a Berks County jail on Nov. 19, 1895, according to the funeral home's current director, Kyle Blankenbiller. Wildlife expert struck by lightning while filming in Florida Blankenbiller explained that Stoneman Willie provided a fake name when he was arrested for petty theft and that his relatives could not be located following his death. The funeral home's original owner, Theodore Auman, used an experimental embalming concoction to preserve his body, hoping that his family would eventually surface."He basically began to mummify almost instantly. St. Louis man runs into cornfield after high-speed I-70 chase KINGDOM CITY, Mo. -- Police caught a car thief also wanted for domestic assault charges after a high-speed chase on I-70 Thursday afternoon. A St. Louis man, Christopher Omar Draper, 33, is now being held in the Callaway County Jail.A Fulton woman called police at around 4 p.m. on October 5 to let them know that her Dodge Durango had been stolen. Officers spotted her SUV on State Road F and started to chase the vehicle. This Missouri town’s water is testing above the limits for radium Other officers joined the pursuit as it continued eastbound onto US Highway 54 near Kingdom City. The SUV went onto eastbound I-70 driving at speeds over 100 mph.Missouri troopers placed spike strips near the 152 mile marker and waited fr the SUV to pass over them. The move aims to replace the outdated public works site, freeing up downtown property for redevelopment. King Soopers parent company opens new fulfillment center in fast-growing northern Colorado Kroger has opened a 57,000-square-foot fulfillment center in Johnstown as part of its efforts to expand grocery delivery service in northern Colorado, one of the state’s fastest-growing regions.The facility is in an industrial park along U.S. 34 and will work in conjunction with Kroger’s fulfillment center in Aurora. The center, which opened in September, has nearly 70 employees, Kroger said in a statement.Kroger, parent company of King Soopers, called the Johnstown center a spoke that will serve as a kind of delivery hub for customers throughout the region.
