KEENESBURG, Colo. (KDVR) -- Just south of Keenesburg in Weld County, cleanup is underway after an early season storm moved through Tuesday.That storm produced the state's first tornado of the year and dumped multiple inches of rain. "Farmers out here need the moisture," Bobbie Pfersch said. "So you gotta put up with a little bad for a lot of good.” Homeowners warned to brace for higher property taxes Pfersch spent Wednesday trying to divert standing water away from her horses, which were coated in mud. "The water in here was almost up to the horses' knees," she said. DENVER (KDVR) -- A Denver man was killed outside his home near La Alma Park, and the district attorney has charged a transient man who police investigators say is responsible. Johnathan Douglas, 34, was found dead on a sidewalk along North Mariposa Street before 7 a.m. April 18 after a man reported seeing someone lying under a tarp. Investigators found his pockets appeared to be pulled inside out, and the front door of his home was open."With JD, he was sweet, he’s not an angry guy, he doesn’t get heated or anything. DENVER (KDVR) -- Police in Aspen will not file criminal charges against a priest accused of sexually assaulting a minor and the district attorney has closed the case, according to a statement from the Archdiocese of Denver.The statement said that the investigation into the allegations against Father Michael O'Brien lasted 18 months and included interviews with more than 80 witnesses."This work and the outcome of the investigation informs the public that the allegations that Fr. O’Brien sexually abused a minor more than 15 years ago during his time at St. Mary Catholic Church in Aspen are false accusations against a good man," the Archdiocese said. Kate Showalter said her 4-year-old daughter Runi is no exception, as they paint planets and animals inside their Denver home. But recently, those questions have been tougher to answer, after Showalter received a terminal diagnosis for a rare form of cancer. "We didn't tell her that I had the terminal diagnosis, but when she heard screaming and crying a lot, she put two and two together," Showalter said. "She started asking me if I was going to die soon." A young victim who was shot and rushed to the hospital has died from his injuries. Rescue crews airlifted an 8-year-old girl to the hospital after she was bitten by a dog in a Miami Gardens neighborhood, her family said.Miami-Dade Fire Rescue responded to the scene of the incident along the 3800 block of Northwest 207th Street Road, just after 6:45 p.m., Wednesday.According to the girl’s grandmother, Carletha Rodgers, the child was playing outside when she went to a neighbor’s yard. “She was going inside her neighbor’s yard to play with her friend,” said Rodgers.Sometime later, Rodgers said, a dog from another resident’s home got loose.“The dog snuck up behind her.
